Biden Announces His Covid-19 Team
The New York Times- The president-elect Joe Biden declared his coronavirus task force team- constituted of 13 members. As his number one priority “to defeat the pandemic” as he vowed when replacing Trump, the president-elect urged the American people to wear masks in order to slow the spread of the pandemic.
After meeting with the new team members in Delaware, Mr.Biden stated, “It doesn’t matter who you voted for, where you stood before Election Day,” thousands of lives can be saved if people just wore your mask. He added, “Not Democratic or Republican lives — American lives,” as The New York Times Reported.
President-elect comments regarding wearing masks eagerly contradict with Mr. Trump, who underestimated the effectiveness of this step. With Mr. Biden urgent call for wearing mask, Mr. Trump, on the other hand, is “at odds” with his covid-19 advisers, regarding mask wearing and the arrival of winter- when are infections are expected to spread faster.
With the promising development of coronavirus vaccine, Mr.Biden cautioned the American people to stay committed with the basic precautions until the vaccine becomes available.
Mr. Biden revealed his 13-member panel, and also announced the three co-chairs of the panel; and they are: “ Dr. VivekMurthy, a surgeon general under former President Barack Obama,” “ Dr. Vivek Murthy, a surgeon general under former President Barack Obama,” and “Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith, a professor of public health at Yale University,” The New York Times stated.
