Islam News – By Rayan Haidar – Iran’s nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh-Mahavadi, was assassinated on Friday in Absard City of Damavand County, Tehran province.

Fakhrizadeh-Mahavadi, the head of Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND), was also one of the masterminds of Iran’s controversial nuclear program.

According to the Public Relations office of the Ministry of Defense, the prominent Physicist was targeted during an armed clash between his bodyguards and unknown assailants for that the terrorists attacked the vehicle he was riding. It also stated that he was immediately sent to hospital but martyred due to his wounds.

Foreign Minister Zarif expressed his deep condolences on the martyrdom of this prominent nuclear scientist and successful director to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, noble people of the country, his companions at the Ministry of Defense especially his esteemed family, as Mehr News report read.

Following his condolences, Zarif stated that the scientist’s assassination was a coward move by the Israeli.

“Terrorists murdered an eminent Iranian scientist today, this cowardice—with serious indications of Israeli role—shows desperate warmongering of perpetrators Iran calls on int’l community—and especially EU—to end their shameful double standards & condemn this act of state terror,” Zarif tweeted, as noted in CNN report.

Furthermore, the top Iranian diplomat called on the international community, especially the European Union, to “end their shameful double standards & condemn this act of state terror.”

‘Harsh revenge awaits criminals’ – Press TV noted.

Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan said about the assassination of the prominent physicist, “The Zionists, in the last days of their gambling ally, are making every effort to ignite an all-out war by putting pressure on Iran.”

And added, “We will come upon the killers of this innocent martyr like a thunder and make them regret what they did” – Mehr News stated.

In turn, Major General Mohammad Baqeri – Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces – accused the attack on “terrorists tied to global arrogance and the evil Zionist regime.” He also warned the enemies that “the path opened by the likes of Martyr Fakhrizadeh will never end,” emphasizing that “harsh revenge” awaits the terror groups as well as all those who had a hand in the terror attack, as Press TV report read.

 The Trump administration said it is closely monitoring the apparent assassination. The death “would be a big deal,” a US official told CNN.

In April 2018, Netanyahu mentioned Fakhrizadeh by name as he described him the head of a secret nuclear project called Project Amad. “Remember that name, Fakhrizadeh,” Netanyahu told reporters – as CNN report read.

And now, Trump implicitly confirmed the Zionist regime’s involvement in the assassination of Iran’s nuclear scientist by retweeting the tweet of Zionist journalist Yossi Melman in reaction to the assassination of Iran’s nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh – Mehr News reported.

Furthermore, Press TV stated that over the past years, the Tel Aviv regime has attempted many times to throw a wrench in Tehran’s peaceful nuclear work. The regime has been behind the assassination of several Iranian nuclear scientists. It has also conduced cyberattacks on Iranian nuclear sites.

Meanwhile, Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said in a statement that an operation had been launched to identify the terrorist elements complicit in the “brutal crime,” pledging that the Islamic Republic will avenge the martyr’s blood – Press TV reported.

In conclusion, ‘The crime won’t block Iran path to scientific progress’ and harsh revenge will seek all who had hand in this “Savage attack.”
